The Role

The Materiel inventory/data support ILS Practitioner will be required, under limited direction, to perform and achieve moderately complex materiel logistics inventory, asset management and Repair/Maintenance work within and integrated workforce.  

 

This role will require a strong understanding of, and compliance with relevant legislative frameworks, government decision making, and Defence mission and policy requirements.

 

The position will be accountable for organising their workflow, making decisions within their defined parameters relating to areas of responsibility will seek guidance when necessary; they will provide administrative support that is informed and directed by their knowledge of the Materiel Management function, and may be require to undertake research and analysis activities related to the role.  

Key Responsibilties

  1. Assist with processes and procedures that support materiel logistics inventory and asset management in accordance with Defence requirements. 

  2. Coordinate and perform a variety of tasks related to materiel logistics inventory, asset management, repair management and Disposal. 

  3. Identify current Defence materiel logistics policies as they apply to materiel logistics inventory and asset management activities. 

  4. Develop and maintain effective relationships with team members and actively participate in teamwork and group activities. 

  5. Work collaboratively, operate as an effective team member, and provides constructive feedback. 

  6. Recommend solutions to issues impacting materiel logistics inventory and asset management to achieve desired outcomes. 

Duties

  1. Coordinate and perform a variety of tasks related to materiel logistics inventory, asset management, repair management and Disposal. 

  2. Assist with the implementation of policy, processes and procedures that support materiel logistics inventory and asset management in accordance with Defence requirements. 

  3. Draft responses to correspondence, briefs and reports for higher delegate consideration. 

  4. Identify current Defence materiel logistics policies as they apply to materiel logistics inventory and asset management activities. 

  5. Build and sustain effective relationships with team members and actively participate in team work and group activities. 

  6. Work collaboratively, operate as an effective team member and provides constructive feedback. 

  7. Recommend solutions to issues impacting materiel logistics inventory and asset management to achieve desired outcomes. 

  8. Interpret and comply with legislative, policy, regulatory frameworks and organisational objectives 

Skills and Experience Required

  1. Australian Citizenship with a minimum Negative Vetting 1 (NV1) Security Clearance 

  2. Understanding of Defence materiel management tools, primarily the Military Integrated Logistics Information System (MILIS)
