The Role

The Project Support Officer under general direction, will work independently to undertake a range of administrative tasks including maintaining Risk Registers, Program and Project sites and configuration management of project artefacts within the team.

The Project Support Officer will take responsibility for the provision of support services to projects, use and recommends project control solutions for planning, scheduling and tracking projects whilst supporting programme or project control boards, project assurance teams and quality review meetings.

The Commonwealth seeks a Project Support Officer that has a proven history of working in complex ICT projects and contributing to the organisational capability within the project. 

​

Candidate must have a current and active NV1 or NV2 Clearance in order to apply. 

Essential Criteria

  1. Maintain program and project Risk Registers; including regular reviews and updates; advising team members if they have been nominated to execute risk treatment; and facilitating project risk workshops. 

  2. Maintain project documentation including establishment of a document library and control methods for finalised project documents. Ensure that all final documents meet audit requirements and are easily retrievable. 

  3. Implement stakeholder communication plans, enhancing customer and stakeholder relationships. 

  4. Collaborate within the Project team to complete the delivery of capability through simple and complex procurements. 

  5. Collaborate and organise customer and stakeholder meetings, and minute taking from meetings. 

  6. Provide complex office and administrative support to the Program Office. 

Desirable Criteria

  1. Possesses excellent verbal and written communication skills with a proven history of working in complex Defence or Government programs or projects contributing to organisational capability.

  2. Experience with the Defence desktop environment and associated applications including the Microsoft Office suite of tools (Word, Excel, Outlook, Visio, Project), ROMAN, Objective and JIRA.

  3. Experience with the Commonwealth complex procurement process, including the tendering process, and managing contracts, is desirable.
